Sophie Maltais is a geological engineer specializing in environmental emergencies with nearly a decade of experience. During her time with Laforge Environnement, Ms. Maltais has overseen hundreds of responses for environmental emergencies throughout Quebec, including major oil spills and accidents involving chemical products and hazardous materials. She is currently the Director of Insurance and Transportation Projects and leads a team of about a dozen disaster management specialists. Her expertise includes planning and organizing environmental emergency response plans throughout Quebec, including in remote areas up north.
